Ajanta and Ellora Festival is festival related to the classical dance and music which held under the backdrop of the Ellora Caves during the March and showcase the best talents throughout the India. The festival is organized by the Maharashtra government.
Shivaji Jayanti is celebrated during the month of May, it relates to the birth anniversary of great Maratha ruler Chatrapati Shivaji.
Aurangabad Festival is celebrated to promote the local culture, art, heritage, and talent including the folk dances, Mushaira, Ghazals, Qawalli, local dance, etc. throughout the city. With the help of this festival, the hidden talents of people come out. This festival is celebrated during the month of December and organized by the Aurangabad Festival Committee.
Paithan Fair is celebrated in March or April. This fair is celebrated by the pilgrims for the homage to be paid to Saint Eknath Maharaj on the banks of Godavari’s river at Paithan. The fair is celebrated continuously for ten days.
Buddha Jayanti is celebrated as an important festival in the city. On this day the public places and community halls are full on with the crowd for the mass prayer.
Mahashivratri is the festival celebrated for the lord Shiva during the month of February and March. The worshippers get together on this day at Grishneshwar temple.
Dussehra celebration runs for ten days and on the tenth day Dussehra is celebrated by offering ‘Apta’ leaves that is a symbol of good luck. Thousands of people went to Karnapura Bhavani Temple to celebrate this festival.
Khultabad Urs is a festival of Muslims, which is celebrated during the month of Rabi-Ul-Awal at the tomb of Khawaja and this festival runs to be celebrated for five days.
Ganesh Chaturthi celebration runs for ten days with the images of Ganapati. The last day the clay images are immersed in the river. The festival is celebrated with great fun and joy.
